Family Adventure at Wadi Dhaher | Hike & Picnic

This is a family-friendly hike and picnic adventure, taking you through the stunning Hajar Mountains to explore one of the few wadis with natural running water. You might have seen influencers or guides on Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook calling these pools the “Sulphur Pools,” but that’s actually not correct. Join us to discover what really gives the Blue and White Pools their striking color and learn about the natural phenomena behind them.

The hike is approximately 4 km along gentle to moderate terrain, including off-road tracks, donkey trails, boulders, and uneven rocky slopes. We’ll take a long, relaxed break for a picnic, giving families plenty of time to pause, enjoy food, and soak in the natural beauty of the wadi – a perfect adventure for nature lovers of all ages. Bring something to snack on for yourself, and if you’d like, feel free to bring a little extra to share during the picnic.

This is a family-friendly hike and picnic adventure, perfect for anyone who is new to hiking – from those taking their very first steps on a trail to beginners with a bit of experience. The terrain is mostly gentle, with a mix of off-road tracks, donkey trails, boulders, and uneven rocky slopes, and there are frequent stops to rest, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings. Distance about 4 km with minimal elevation gain, making it suitable for adults and kids aged 6 and above.

Physically active beginners are welcome, and first-timers who want to push their limits a little while learning about hiking and the UAE’s flora, fauna, and unique natural spots will enjoy this experience. Along the trail, you’ll also get to see the famous Blue and White Pools of the Hajar Mountains and learn what really gives them their striking color.

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. On the way to the village of Ghub in the Emirate of Fujairah.

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. 

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.
