PRE-SEASON HIKE – A WARM-UP BEFORE THE SEASON BEGINS
Before the new AFT hiking season officially begins, we’re heading back to the mountains for a few special pre-season hikes – a chance to warm up, reconnect with the trails, and get ready for another season of adventures.
Discover the rugged beauty of Wadi Shawkah – a scenic mountain loop over and around the Shawkah reservoir, crossing rocky passages, and hidden corners of the wadi.
Please note: This is a pre-season hike and is not included in the AFT Pass or Trial Pass. A separate booking is required to participate.
This scenic loop trail takes you through rocky passages, and hidden corners of the famous wadi Shawkah, offering plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photographs.
Surrounded by layered mountain ridges and natural landscapes, the route combines beautiful views, fresh mountain air, and a sense of discovery as you explore some of the wadi’s lesser-known spots. A scenic adventure with plenty to explore and remember.
Little over an hour drive from Dubai. Shawka is one of the popular hiking destinations in Eastern Ras Al Khaimah.
INTERMEDIATE – LEVEL 5/10
This hike is suitable for physically fit hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience. Participants should be active and comfortable with hikes lasting upto 6 hours. No technical skills are required, although participants must be able to carry a backpack weighing up to 6 kg for the duration of hike.
Physically active beginners and children aged 12 and above are welcome to join.
