Join us on a journey deep into the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah – wander through a hidden valley, explore ancient stone ruins, and marvel at dramatic rock formations, unique plants, and local wildlife along the way.

This trail lies deep in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah, near the border with Oman’s Musandam Peninsula. We begin on a winding path that leads to a hidden valley, isolated from nearby villages. Along the way, we cross a vast field and pause at a water well, then continue to discover fascinating rock formations, diverse flora, and wildlife. The hike culminates at an abandoned village, where stone houses sit surrounded by towering cliffs. Here, we explore the historic ruins and learn about the culture and history of this long-lost settlement.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike. Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb. This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 10 years.

! Perfect for hikers who feel comfortable moving over loose rocks and boulders and enjoy a bit of natural terrain under their feet.

In the Emirates of Ras al Khaimah, about an hour and half drive distance from Dubai this is a beautiful mountain with breathtaking views deep inside the Wadi Bih.

TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, donkey trail and some rocky slopes.

– Hiking poles (recommended, but mot mandatory)
– Headlamp with spare batteries (mandatory)

Any car can reach meeting point (Ras Al Khaimah). Although any car can reach also the hike start point, 4×4 and SUVs are recommended. If you have a normal car, we would accommodate you for any off road stretch of the drive (if you would like to). We’ll do our best to organize carpooling at meeting point between all available 4x4s and SUVs, and we’d be grateful if you’re also willing to give a ride to fellow participants on the way to the camp.

Carpooling to meeting point is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded. WhatsApp group will be created 24 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
