This event is organized by AFT Mountain Adventures licensed by the UAE government. The hike is led by RAK TDA certified professional mountain leaders and wilderness experts.

The hike starts over a plateau above 900 meters elevation. The trail follows through the villages with moderate incline and through some farmland with beautiful scenery. The views at the top are amazing, where farmers still inhabit those village homes.

What makes this hike special for summer?
Thanks to early morning hike and higher altitude, you’ll enjoy cooler, more comfortable temperatures – an ideal way to escape the UAE heat. The refreshing mountain climate offers a welcome break from the city’s summer intensity, making this hike especially enjoyable during the warmer months.

This hike is at an Beginners Plus & Intermediate level, rated 4/10 & 5/10 in difficulty.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.
This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 8 years.

INTERMEDIATE 5/10 level hike is suitable for regular hikers of AFT, those with local hiking experience, and those who have a complete hiking kit, including hiking-specific boots, backpacks. The attendees must be able to carry up to 6kg pack for the duration of the event.
This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 10 years.

Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb.

Jebel Yanas is located in Ras Al Khaimah, approximately 2 hours distance from Dubai.

TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, donkey trail, boulders and some uneven rocky slopes.

An 8km mountain dirt track is part of the drive, although all cars can manage this section but an SUV is recommended. We will share the seats in available suvs for this short while.

Carpooling is organized between the paid participants. A WhatsApp group will be created for confirmed participants where you’ll be able to find a ride partner.
