Hatta | Full Moon Hike

Event Date:

May 1, 2026

Event Time:

4:00 PM

Event Description

Our Summer Hikes Series exists for one reason: to continue training and movement in the mountains through the warmer months – safely, deliberately, and with full awareness of the conditions.

These hikes are not designed for comfort, and they are not suitable for everyone. Participation is only recommended for those who are physically prepared, experienced in warm-weather hiking, and capable of managing hydration, pacing, and personal responsibility under heat stress.

The objective is simple: maintain consistency (check more at “Summer hikes disclaimer & approach” section).

This will be an afternoon to sunset hike, where the team will start hiking near the water dam (same as in the event photo) and make our way through a winding trail, exploring ancient burial sites, passing through plenty of vegetation, and navigating some steeper but well-developed hiking sections. It is a looping trail, where we return via a different path than the one used for the ascent. Reaching the Hatta sign is not very challenging, but highly rewarding with stunning views.

This time, the experience continues into a full moon hike as daylight fades and the mountains shift into soft moonlight, adding a calm and unique atmosphere to the trail.

Hatta, the highlands of Dubai is about an hour and half drive from main Dubai city. This little mountains town is right at the border of Oman and due to its geographical location receives quite a lot of rain.

Hatta sign holds the world record of being the highest sign in the world. This future adventure destination has a lot of adventure projects coming up very soon, such as chairlift to the top of Dubai’s highest peak “Umm Al Nusoor” or Jebel Hatta.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike. Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb.

The objective is simple: maintain consistency. Mountains don’t disappear in summer – but the margin for error becomes smaller. This series is built around that reality.

We adapt by planning early morning and late afternoon movements, selecting routes with elevation where possible, and structuring the experience to reduce exposure – not eliminate it. Heat remains a factor, and every participant must be ready to operate within it. Preparation, discipline, and awareness are non-negotiable. This is not about chasing conditions – it’s about training within them.

We continue to follow all official government guidelines and will adjust or pause activities if required to ensure safety and compliance.
