Galilah to Ghaf Summit Hike | AFT Al Hajar Challenge Series

Starting at the northern face of Jebel Jais, near Wadi Galilah, we ascend towards the highest peak of the UAE. You may have driven along the famous winding road of Jebel Jais, but its northern face – with gigantic cliff walls offers a whole different perspective: a true challenge and a playground for hikers and mountaineers.

The trail is steep, rocky, and demanding, yet every step is rewarded with breathtaking views and a sense of achievement. If you want to test your limits, this hike will push you beyond the ordinary – and bring you closer to the wild, raw beauty of the mountains.

NTERMEDIATE 6/10 level hike is suitable for those who hike regularly in the UAE and those who have complete hiking kit, including hiking-specific boots, backpack. The attendees must be able to carry up to 8kg pack for the duration of the event.
Suitable for age 14 years and above.

NOT suitable for any first-time joiners!

Participants must meet the “Who Can Join” requirements and bring the proper gear listed under “What to Bring.” Otherwise, we reserve the right to deny participation, and the booking fee may not be refunded.

This hike is located in the Emirate of Ras al Khaimah. Drive time from Dubai to the hike start point is 1 hour & 40 minutes.

All cars can make it to the hike start location. You do not require 4×4 cars to join this event.

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded. WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
