Event Description
This long weekend, we’re trading the city heat for cool mountain air – an Above the Heat escape to Oman’s Jebel Akhdar, the Green Mountain. Over three days we climb 2,000 metres above the summer, into a world of terraced cliffs, ancient stone villages, and hidden canyons few ever reach.
Active days on the trails, comfortable nights in cosy mountain stays – no tents, just good people, cool air, and the kind of views that stay with you long after the weekend ends 🌿.
Escape the summer heat and join us on a 3-day guided journey into the highlands of Oman – climbing 2,000 metres up to Jebel Akhdar, the Green Mountain, where the air turns cool and the landscape transforms completely. This trip is designed as a progressive experience, where each day reveals a new face of the mountain – terraced farms clinging to the cliffs, ancient stone villages, and hidden canyons few ever reach.
Every route has been carefully explored and planned by our team. Expect cooler mountain air, raw nature, and moments that stay with you long after the trip ends – all without sacrificing comfort. This is an active tour by day and a true rest by night: instead of tents, we stay in cosy mountain hotels, guesthouses and villas – comfortable shared rooms on a twin or triple basis, so you wake up recharged, well-rested, and ready for the trails.
WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE:
– Three-village hike – trails linking historic mountain settlements
– Terrace Fields & Falafel Trail – hike the famous stepped farms of Jebel Akhdar, with a tasty local stop along the way
– Bani Habib ancient village hike – explore the hauntingly beautiful abandoned stone village set against the cliffs
– Hidden Canyon of Hayl Al Yemen – discover a secluded canyon away from the crowds

This is an active escape, not a lie-by-the-pool getaway – and that’s exactly what makes it special. Over the long weekend you’ll trade the city heat for cool mountain air, real trails, and the kind of views that don’t fit through a car window.
The tour is designed for Beginner Plus & Intermediate level hikers (4-5/10) – anyone with a basic level of fitness who’s comfortable walking for a few hours on uneven mountain terrain. No technical climbing, no ropes, no prior expedition experience required. If you can enjoy a few hours on your feet and you’re up for an adventure, you’ll fit right in.
What to expect on the active side: scenic hikes through ancient villages and terraced farms, some long scenic drives across the mountains, and a few early starts to make the most of the cool hours and the light. By night, you rest in cosy mountain hotels / guesthouses – comfortable beds, a roof over your head, no camping.
It’s the perfect long-weekend reset: active enough to feel the achievement, comfortable enough to truly switch off. A great first taste of multi-day mountain adventure – and an easy way to escape the June heat with good people, on the Green Mountain.
We keep the group limited (on a first-come, first-served basis).
