Join us for an exciting overnight navigation learning backpacking adventure! Immerse yourself in the wilderness as you learn essential navigation skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. This event offers an unforgettable opportunity to explore nature while mastering the art of map reading, compass use, and orienteering techniques.

Activities:

– Introduction to map reading and use of compass
– Practical navigation exercises in varying terrain
– Hands-on orienteering challenges
– Introduction to night navigation
– Multiple hikes through one of the most beautiful wadis with small water pools, vegetation and wildlife
– Overnight backpacking skills and techniques

Intermediate 5/10 Level: Suitable for regular hikers, those with local hiking experience, and those who have a complete hiking kit, including hiking-specific boots, backpacks. The attendees must be able to carry up to 10kg pack for the duration of the event.
This event is suitable for physically active kids above 14 years.

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. On the way to the village of Esfai Ras Al-Khaimah. This is a signature trail only lead by Team AFT for many years.

Total duration: 24 hours
Hike duration (practice): +/-3 hours x 3 hikes
Terrain: A mix of off-road track, donkey trail, boulders, and uneven rocky slopes.

– Lightweight backpacking food
– Jacket or Layers: temperatures can drop at night, so bring a light fleece or jacket

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 cars or SUVs are NOT mandatory.
Carpooling is organized between the paid participants. A WhatsApp group will be created for confirmed participants where you’ll be able to find a ride partner.
