Wadi Al Ghuna – Qfair Trail | Hike

Wadi Al Ghuna in Fujairah is one of those beginner-friendly but still a bit challenging trails that surprises you in the best way. The hike winds 7-9 km through a scenic riverbed, surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes, lush greenery, and quiet farmland. Along the way, you’ll pass freshwater pools and natural rock formations, with the chance to discover small seasonal waterfalls hidden within the wadi 🌿💦.

Accessible for active beginners and enjoyable for moderate hikers, this trail offers an easy rhythm with the option to push a little further toward a panoramic viewpoint – a gentle reward for those who want a bit more challenge.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.

This hike is suitable for kids above 12 years. Attendees must be able to carry up to 5kg pack for the duration of the event.

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. Near the town of Masafi in the Emirate of Fujairah.

– A small backpack (25-35 L)
– Mid to high-cut hiking boots or joggers with good grip (Sections of the trail pass through water and may be slippery – sturdy, grippy footwear recommended)
– Swimming shorts / swimwear (for those who are okay with a splash (or two 😅))
– Change of clothes – in case you prefer to take a dip in your clothes and swap into dry layers afterwards
– Lightweight towel
– Water 3 liters and hydration drinks (sports water)
– Loosely fitted hiking trousers and shirt
– Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
– Energy bars and snacks
– Headlamp with extra batteries (MANDATORY)

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. 

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded. WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
