Wadi Sena | Sunset hike

In this sunset hike, we are heading up to explore the mountains near Wadi Sena Fujairah. The team will start from the bottom of the wadi, near the village and head up to the sunset and full moon view point.

Along the way, you would see how mountain farmers create rock holes for beehives, remains of ancient terrace fields and the way rain water was channeled into the cistern for irrigation.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.

Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb.

This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 10 years.

Jebel Sena is located in Fujairah, approximately an 1,5 hour distance from Dubai

ELEVATION GAIN : ± 450m
HIGHEST POINT ELEVATION : ± 580m

TERRAIN: A mix of boulders, off-road car track, donkey trail, plenty of loose rocks and uneven steep rocky slopes.

– Headlamp with spare batteries (mandatory)
– Hiking poles (recommended)

A 5km mountain dirt track is part of the drive, although all cars can manage this section but an SUV is recommended. We will share the seats in available suvs for this short section.

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.

WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
