Wadi Kub – The Colourful Valley

Discover Wadi Kub, a hidden gem between the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah.

This trail takes you through dramatic rock formations and colourful metamorphic layers that tell the story of the Earth’s past. A landscape unlike anywhere else in the UAE.

INTERMEDIATE 5/10 level hike is suitable for anyone with average fitness. Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb. The attendees must be able to carry up to 6kg pack for the duration of the event.

This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 14 years. 

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. Along the way to the town of Tween (Fujairah) in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

START POINT ELEVATION: 240 m
ELEVATION GAIN : +/-210 m
HIGHEST POINT ELEVATION : +/-430 m
TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, wadi trail, boulders and uneven rocky slopes.

– A small backpack (25-35 L)
– Mid to high-cut hiking boots or joggers with good grip
– Water 3 liters and hydration drinks (sports water)
– Loosely fitted hiking trousers and shirt
– Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
– Energy bars and snacks
– Headlamp with spare batteries

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. 

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.

WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
