Showkah sunset hike | The wild wadi of UAE

We will follow a scenic trail winding through natural wadi pools and rocky passages, leading us to stunning sunset viewpoints overlooking the rolling hills of Shawka. As the sun sinks behind the chain of rugged mountains, the entire valley glows with warm light – a perfect ending to the day in the wild.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.

NOT suitable for kids below 10 years or anyone scared of walking on loose rocks.

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. Shawka is one of the popular hiking destinations in Eastern Ras Al Khaimah.

HIGHEST POINT ELEVATION : +/- 400m
TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, wadi with natural water pools, donkey trail, boulders and some uneven rocky slopes.

– Headlamp with extra batteries (mandatory)

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. 

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.

WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
