🇦🇪 National Day Series |   7 Elements of Nature | SAND: Wadi Ar’ar

Celebrate UAE National Day with the 7 Elements of Nature Series, a special set of seven unique hikes, each inspired by the wonders of nature and representing the unity among the 7 Emirates – SUN | STONE | SAND | SKY | SEA | STARS | STREAM.

Each trail offers a unique adventure, breathtaking views, and an opportunity to experience the spirit of the UAE through its extraordinary natural landscapes during the National Day long weekend.

Wadi Ar’ar is a new edition to AFT trails, a hidden gem between the mountains of Fujairah & Ras Al Khaimah. This trail takes you through dramatic rock formations and beautiful wadi with seasonal rain water pools. We witness the sunset over the Arabian desert, where the red sand meets the dark brown Hajar mountains. An unforgettable sunset and a perfect place for golden light photography.

BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.

Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb.

This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 10 years.

Little over an hour drive from Dubai. Along the way to the town of Tween (Fujairah) in the Emirate of Fujairah.

ELEVATION GAIN : +/- 250 m
HIGHEST POINT ELEVATION : +/- 610 m
TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, wadi trail, boulders and steep slopes with loose rocks.

– Mid to high-cut hiking boots or joggers with good grip
– Water 3 liters and hydration drinks (sports water)
– Loosely fitted hiking trousers and shirt
– Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
– Energy bars and snacks
– Headlamp with spare batteries (mandatory)
– Hiking poles (recommended)

Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. 

Carpooling is organised among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.

WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
