Jebel Maner & Valley of Flowers Hike
Event Description
This hike is a signature trail only lead by Team AFT for many years.
This will be a morning to afternoon hike, where we will enjoy the beautiful hike through one of the most beautiful wadi with small water pools and vegetation to reach a saddle between the mountains. From here we enjoy the views over the layers of Hajar mountains.
The chain of lower mountains creates a beautiful backdrop for photography, and if lucky, we get some running water during the hike as well.
Due to being well secluded, there is possibility of encountering wildlife such as the rare Arabian Tahr, Saw-scaled vipers, Arabian Red fox and ferrel donkeys etc.
– Meet at / near the hike start point at the Event Time (as mentioned above).
– 10-minute buffer for check-in and late arrivals.
– Convoy / short drive to the hike start point exactly 15 minutes after the Event Time.
– Briefing, introductions, and gear check at the hike start point.
– Hike begins shortly after the briefing (within 10 minutes).
– Event finish time is approximate hike end time (finish time may vary slightly, depending on group pace and trail conditions)

LEVEL: Beginners Plus & Intermediate
DIFFICULTY: 4 & 6/10
DISTANCE: +/- 10km & 17 km
DURATION: +/- 6 hours
START POINT ELEVATION: 420 m
ELEVATION GAIN : +/-400 m & +/-900 m
HIGHEST POINT ELEVATION : +/-600 m & 1020 m
TERRAIN: A mix of off-road track, donkey trail, boulders and uneven rocky slopes.
BEGINNERS PLUS 4/10 level hike is suitable for physically fit beginner hikers of AFT, those with basic local hiking experience and. The attendees must be able to walk with a 4 to 5 kg pack for the duration of the hike.
Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb.
This hike is also suitable for physically active kids above 10 years.
INTERMEDIATE 6/10 level hike is suitable for those who hike regularly in the UAE and those who have complete hiking kit, including hiking-specific boots, backpack. The attendees must be able to carry up to 8kg pack for the duration of the event.

Although any car can reach the hike start point, 4x4s or SUVs are recommended. If you’re coming with a regular car, don’t worry, we’ll help you arrange a seat with someone driving a 4×4 for the short off-road stretch.
Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.
WhatsApp group will be created 24-36 hours before event for confirmed participants where you might be able to find a ride partner.
