Hidden Oasis of Sal Shahha | Hike
Event Description
Follow a rugged wadi and cliffside trail to discover Hatta’s Hidden Oasis – a lush, secluded paradise with palm trees, figs, and verdant pastures tucked away in the mountains.
The hike starts with a walk through a Wadi (valley) full of boulders and connects to mountain goats trail. This trail continues to climb up along the cliff walls with spectacular views and leads us to this hidden Oasis – locally known as Sal Shahha. This hidden piece of agricultural land was used by Shahhoo/Shahhi tribe to grow palm dates, figs and grass for their livestock. The Hidden Oasis turns into lush green paradise during the peak winter months and after the heavy rains.
INTERMEDIATE 5/10 level hike is suitable for anyone with average fitness. Although the hike will get you a good workout but this level does not include any technical terrain or exposed parts to climb. The attendees must be able to carry up to 6kg pack for the duration of the event.
This level is also suitable for physically active kids above 12 years.
This hike is located on the way to the highest mountain in UAE and in the Emirate of Ras al Khaimah. Drive time from Dubai to hike start point is 1 hour & 30 minutes.

Carpooling is organized among confirmed participants via a WhatsApp group. While we do our best to help you find a ride, carpooling availability cannot be guaranteed. If you are unable to find a carpool partner, the full cost of the hike will be refunded.
