Team will start from the local village of Hazel and follow a wadi (River bed) for most of the hike. We make our way through the winding trail, explore some amazing rock features and flora & fauna along the way, until we reach the abandoned village of pottery makers. This is where we witness the historical ruins of an ancient village and learn about the culture and the history of this long lost village.
This hike is suitable for Beginners & Beginners Plus level hikers that have with love for wilderness and nature. Young explorers are also welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult. No age restrictions. Juniors join FREE (below 12 years accompanied by adult)
In the Emirates of Ras al Khaimah, about an hour and half drive distance from Dubai this is a beautiful mountain with breathtaking views deep inside the Wadi Haqeel. This abandoned historical village walk takes you back to the times when life was much simpler and purer in every sense.
– A small backpack – Hiking boots or joggers with good grip – Water 2 liters and hydration drinks (sports water) – Loosely fitted hiking trousers and shirt – Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) – Extra shirt and shorts for swim – Energy bars and snacks – Headlamp
Any car can reach the hike start point. 4×4 are NOT mandatory. Carpooling is organized between the paid participants. A WhatsApp group will be created for confirmed participants where you’ll be able to find a ride partner.
